Risk and Protective Factors Unique to Military and Veteran Youth

Learning Objectives:

• Identify key risk factors that impact military-connected children, including parental deployment, frequent relocations, and exposure to trauma.

• Recognize protective factors that contribute to resilience in military children, such as strong family bonds, peer and community support, and access to military-specific resources.

• Apply trauma-informed strategies to support the well-being of military-connected children in educational, clinical, and community settings.
